  • LEA Launches MapVision Enterprise at Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District

Alameda Mosquito Abatement District kicked off their 2017 summer with the launch of MapVision® Enterprise. Robert Ferdan, Alameda’s Information Technology Director and the Alameda team worked diligently with our talented team of software engineers to deploy a top-notch geo-spatial database management system. They streamlined workflows to increase efficiencies for their staff of field and laboratory technicians. An outstanding achievement was developing Robert’s vision of a complete offline version of the iPad iOS app, MapVision iMobile.

The team’s focus on excellence in laboratory processes really raised the bar for comprehensive mosquito surveillance functionality. Their desire for quick entry of adult trap counts, creation of mosquito pools for disease testing and real-time map visualization of where trap sites are located resulted in a one-window user interface. Fine details such as particular trap types, vector species versus nuisance species and easy integration into the CalSurv statewide system were all blended seamlessly to make Alameda’s MapVision laboratory module one of the very best in the country.
